The best time to HELP a CHILD was NOT 20 years ago. The best time is now.

About Me

The Story of my beginning.

On a tiny signboard at the Kereke Boue Community Primary School written "Knowledge is Power" as the school motto.

This is the signboard I used to see everyday when entering the school premises  in the morning and when going home after the dispersed.  The motto, Knowledge is Power doesn't make any sense to me as at that time but closer to the primary six grade, it was like the motto was written with bold pen that captured my attention like never before....KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

There and then, I asked myself, what is knowledge and what is power?  The eyes of my mind was ignited and a research begin. My heart was heavy and I desire for more even as a child, After my graduation from primary six, my parents could not afford to sponsor my secondary education. My heart was burning for the knowledge that can give me power. I approach my  mother that I wanted to go for fishing so that I can save some money and get enroll in secondary education. She looked at me and said ok. She took me to meet a man called Mr. Ngboalu from my community. She asked him to assist me for a fishing business and he accepted but demanded that my mother should buy him some drinks. My mother did as he has demanded. He took me to a fishing settlement called Kojo in Bodo City Rivers State, Nigeria.

I was able to save some money through that source and got enrolled in Community Secondary School Uegwere Boue. At a point in my JSS 3, my thoughts changed. I realized If I finished with the grammar school, I won't be able to further my education to the university and it might be a waste of time and effort. Instead, let be looked for a way to transfer to a trade school.  One evening at the football pitch practice, I engaged a friend who was a student of Government Technical College Port-Harcourt. I enquired about the school from him and discussed my intention of changing to his school. He was impress and advise me to do so and I should choose Mechanical Craft Practice.

At that point, my concerned was accommodation in Port-Harcourt.  Immediately, I realized the soccer coach that evening, a staff of Shell Petroleum Development Company reside near the college. I spoke with him and discuss my intention and he agrees to accommodate me.   Life is similar to a bus ride. The journey begins when we board the bus. We meet people along our way of which some are strangers, and some strangers yet to be friends. There are stops at intervals and people board in. At times some of these people make their presence felt, leave an impact through their grace and beauty on us fellow passengers while on other occasions they remain indifferent. But then it is important for some people to make an exit, to get down and walk the paths they were destined to because if people always made an entrance and never left either for the better or worse, then we would feel suffocated and confused like those people in the bus, the purpose of the journey would lose its essence and the journey altogether would neither be worthwhile nor smooth.
